Great Find
there is nothing better than a visit from my men in brown… ups arrived today with some goodies i have been anxiously awaiting. while looking through all the fabulous work on etsy i came across alicia bock and instantly fell in love with her work. i ordered a few of her 5×5 prints to hang in my bedroom… thought i would share this artists beautiful talent.

Roadtrip
i spent this past weekend in ohio visiting family; i didnt get the chance to shoot nearly as many photos as i would have liked, but here are a few. there is something about the midwest landscape, so simple with the most beautiful golden light.

Experimenting again
I am using a tone that is familiar with an old brown Daguerreotype tone from the 1800s for this photograph which is a change from the standard sepia toned print. Anyway…I thought it might be fun to blog. Let me know what you think!!!
A New York Model
I am currently in LaGuardia and with one hour to play on my computer and I thought I would blog a few images from a fashion shoot this weekend. Ella made a phenomenal model…..letting me test the limits of my point and shoot camera and play with a little bit of lighting. I honored her agreement, paying her handsomely with a few treats.
Inspired
sometimes inspiration comes from the most unsuspecting places… for me it has recently been from shel silverstein. i finally pulled down “a light in the attic” and “where the sidewalk ends” from the shelf the other week and just cant get enough of his quirky creativity. i read “dancing pants” and had a quirky idea of my own; i would make pants. i teach ceramics once a week to a handful of middle schoolers and we all had fun with this one! here is what i came up with…
“dancing pants”
and now for the dancing pants,
doing their fabulous dance.
from the seat to the pleat
they will bounce to the beat,
with no legs inside them
and no feet beneath.
they’ll whirl, and twirl, and jiggle and prance,
so just start the music
and give them a chance-
lets have a big hand for the wonderul, marvelous,
super sensational, utterly fabulous,
talented dancing pants!

Where the Sidewalk Ends
there is a place where the sidewalk ends
and before the street begins,
and there the grass grows soft and white,
and there the sun burns crimson bright,
and there the moon-bird rests from his flight
to cool in the peppermint wind.
let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
and the dark street winds and bends.
past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
we shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
and watch where the chalk-white arrows go
to the place where the sidewalk ends.
yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
and we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
for the children, they mark, and the children, they know
the place where the sidewalk ends.
