Frankie Avalon
1950′s teen idol, Frankie Avalon, made an appearance at The Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia tonight. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the show with Avalon belting out such hits as “Venus”, “Beauty School Dropout”, and “Why” (the last #1 song in the 1950′s). Frankie Avalon’s son, Frankie Jr., currently plays drums in the band. You can read The Paramount’s press release by clicking on the following link: Frankie Avalon press release
We had a nice visit in the founders lounge talking about the movie “Back to the Beach.” My favorite guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan, was in that movie with Frankie.

Bobby McFerrin
Tonight, Bobby McFerrin performed to a enthusiastic crowd at The Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia. If you haven’t had a chance to see his show live…..GO!!! This performance was entertaining, soothing, and enlightening. As the show ended, all performers continued to sing as they walked off, wrapping up the performance in a small circle backstage. This continued for two minutes and I had the opportunity to stand beside them and take it all in!!! We enjoyed our time with Mr. McFerrin and his talented group of singers. Hopefully they will have a chance to return to Charlottesville soon!

Galapagos – Part 2
We are back in Quito, Ecuador and will be flying back to the U.S. on April 10th after a very successful photography tour. I don’t have much internet time, but I thought I would include a few photographs. Enjoy!
Live from Ecuador and The Galapagos Islands
My students and I arrived safely in Quito, Ecuador this evening! It´s been three years since I last led a tour in Ecuador and am ready to start our 10 day photographic adventure which will include 4 days in the breathtaking Galapagos Islands. I will try to update my blog as much as possible to let everyone know what we are doing. I will publish a link with images after we return. If you would like to view a few photographs from my last tour to the Galapagos, go to www.robgarland.com, click on “Rob´s Gallery” and then click on “Miscellaneous.” You will see a few images from the Galapagos including a few blue-footed boobies, pinnacle rock, and a few sea lions. Well……I´m off to bed!
